What is Brachytherapy?
Brachytherapy is a highly focused radiation therapy for prostate cancer. Sealed radioactive sources are placed within the tumour to give a localised dose, thus minimising the dose (and harm) to the surrounding normal tissues. It is carried out in the sterile surroundings of an operating theatre.
