Vinod Nargund was trained in Urology Units at City Hospital Belfast, Royal Infirmary Bradford and Churchill and John Radcliffe Hospitals, Oxford. Prior to his current appointment he was Clinical Lecturer in Surgery and Renal Transplant and, Honorary Senior Registrar in Urology at Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust and University of Oxford.

Mr. Nargund is specialised in urological cancers and testicular diseases including male infertility. Before his consultant appointment, he spent sabbatical at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, New York for advancement of Genito-urinary Cancer training. He was trained in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery at Erasme University Hospital, Brussels and Oscar Lambret Cancer Centre at Lille, France. He received PhD for his research on bladder cancer. Mr Nargund has published over 90 papers in national and international journals and is principal editor of the text book Urological Oncology published in 2007.

He is also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching at Queen Mary Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London. He has been undergraduate and postgraduate examiner for University of London and served as member of court of examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. His research interests include early diagnosis of genito-urinary cancer, angiogenesis and minimally invasive management of urological cancers. He was nominated by his patients for Kings fund/Evening Standard NHS Champion award in 2002 and for NHS Innovation in 2008.
