Dr Richard Sheaves is a Consultant Physician with special interest in Endocrinology and Diabetes. He obtained his medical degree and DPhil in neuroendocrinology from Oxford University before undertaking General medical training in London. Dr Sheaves was awarded numerous scholarships for research both in Paris, France and the USA. He was a former lecturer in Endocrinology at St Bartholomew London and medical tutor at St HildaÆs College University of Oxford.At the Princess Grace he is building particularly upon the high level of expertise in the field of orthopaedic and vascular surgery for the management of diabetic foot disorders.Keen to work with his patients and to adapt their treatment to their lifestyle. He has a particular interest in presenting a sound clinical knowledge base to patients keen to discuss treatment choices for thyroid conditions and diabetes.Dr Sheaves has made several films including management of diabetes for mountain climbers and educational videos for patients and heath professionals. He has numerous publications in the field of endocrinology. At present Dr Sheaves is developing a unique concept of management for patients with diabetes by mobile phone that will be available worldwide.Dr Sheaves will soon be offering his patients video conferencing enabling them to speak directly to any member of the team which includes a sports dietician and a diabetes nurse consultant.
